Below is a link to a whitepaper I published on edge computing. With the rollout of 5G networking, the number of smart endpoints will grow exponentially. This will drive the evolution to a new computing model where we perform processing and data persistence closer to the endpoints by the introduction of an Edge Computing layer. In this paper, I describe the architecture, provide some industry-specific use cases, and how we will manage this new layer between the endpoints and the centralized cloud.
